Task Force of Planning and Evaluation makes continued efforts to optimize talent information registration system

The Task Force of Planning and Evaluation under the Talents Development Committee held the third meeting of the year on 1st September, chaired by Dr. Yeung Tsun Man, convener of the Task Force. During the meeting, each member of the committee discussed in turn the optimization plans of the talent information registration system, including optimization in three areas: convenience and clarity of front desk service, monitoring of back office system functions and standardization of core data.

According to the report of the Secretariat, as of 31st August this year, 6690 residents have registered their information via the talent information registration system. Of the registered residents, over 81% are currently residing in Macao, followed by Hong Kong, Mainland, Taiwan, the United States, United Kingdom, etc. Of the registered individuals living in Macao, 65.91% have a bachelor's degree, followed by master's degree (19.34%), certificate or diploma (4.33%), doctor's degree (2.35%), and higher education diploma (2.29%). Of the people living in Macao, they are mainly engaged in the gaming industry (13.52%), education (11.18%), and public administration and social security service (9.78%). Of the people living abroad, they are mainly engaged in education (11.13%), medial service and healthcare (10.89%), and finance (10.73%). To improve the accuracy of the registered information and ensure the integrity and validity of the information, members of the committee will make continued efforts to optimize the talent information registration system in order to provide reliable scientific data for the establishment of talent policies.

Furthermore, four local higher education institutions were commissioned by the members of committee earlier to carry out an in-depth survey research on the demand of talents in gaming, hotel, food and beverage, retailing and MICE industries. After discussion, the Task Force of Planning and Evaluation plans to explore further the feasibility of relevant study. They also carried out discussion on the objects/industries of the next phase research.
