Subgroup of Talents Development Committee discusses the cooperation framework for both public and private sectors to encourage vocational training and certification of the skilled

Leader of the Subgroup for the Skilled Talents Acquiring Plan under the Talents Development Committee, Wong Chi Hong, convened its first meeting in 2015. At the meeting, the secretariat reported the revisions of the cooperation framework for both public and private entities to encourage vocational training and certification of the skilled (hereinafter called ‘The Framework’). Committee members reached the consensus that the Framework should be implemented as soon as possible to encourage cultivation of a diversified range of talents to meet future demands of the Macao SAR.

Committee members concurred to the talents cultivation framework initiated by the Government to work with societal partners to form a three-in-one system encompassing training, licensing and deploying the skilled talents. Connections with enterprises and organisations will be strengthened and corresponding talents cultivation plans be formulated according to the socio-economic needs of Macao. Residents will also be encouraged to take part in vocational trainings and licensing examinations. The training of the skilled will proceed in an orderly fashion and in phases, so as to allow horizontal and vertical acquisition of the skilled talents. In the meantime, committee members agreed to construct a one-stop information platform, to facilitate access to information about training and licensing examinations. The first phase will be to develop the application softwares in relation to licensing information centre, aiming to maintain communication with industries and organisations for update licensing information concerning the actual needs and situations of the industries.

The Secretariat of the Talents Development Committee is now liaising with the enterprises and related organisations of Macao to collect more information about the industries.
