Macao’s Delegation has visited ‘Semester at Sea’

The World famous floating campus ‘Semester at Sea’ (SAS) setting sails for its global voyage had berthed at Ocean Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong on 7 and 8 February 2015, and invited the education sector of Hong Kong and its neighboring regions for site visits of the cruise liner and for exchange of ideas.

The Talents Development Committee members of Macao SAR, together with the representatives of the Tertiary Education Services Office and local tertiary institutions, forming a 17-members delegation, took part in the ‘Open Ship’ Event of the SAS held on board the ship on 7 February. The delegation had a chance to look at the hardware and teaching facilities of SAS and discuss with international scholars over topics such as teaching practices, higher education, and talents cultivation. Some believed, this visit was of reference value to Macau in aspects such as the education experience, diversified and nationalized teaching methods, and cultivating young leaders with a broader worldview and international perspective.
