Motivating Qualified and Specialized Talents Subgroup discusses incentive plans

At the second meeting of the Subgroup of the Program for Motivating Qualified and Specialized Talents under the Talents Development Committee, the Secretariat of Committee reported the industry-wide analysis based on data and figures collected which is expected to be the statistical basis for formulating the scheme of Qualified and Specialized Talents development. Subsidies plan as incentives for qualified professionals was also discussed. Members of the Committee actively gave suggestions and opinions on the positioning, contents and format of the plan.

Hosted by the Leader of the Motivating Qualified and Specialized Talents Subgroup, Van Iat Kio, the meeting commenced with the Secretariat providing the Committee Members with an industry-wide analysis based on several statistical indicators and various statistical methods. Committee Members suggested that the categorization of the industries should be more refined, so that the data could be more accurate and more of a reference value.

Committee Members also exchanged ideas and offered suggestions on the positioning, eligibility, types of industries, and methods of the incentive plans drafted in the guideline plan. They mentioned that the ways of the incentives could be diversified, for instance, considerations could be made on offering some support to applicants in taking examinations for licenses and qualifications, but the positioning of such support has to be very well-defined. The Secretariat collected suggestions of members on the above two items on the agenda to fine-tune the plans.

The Leader of the subgroup, Van Iat Kio, then gave a brief on the current situation of talents development; and that practitioners in the nursing and healthcare sector of Macau could attend various courses in Macau or joint courses between Macau and abroad, to have an on-going improvement of the professional level.

Members attending the meeting included: Van Iat Kio, Vong Chuk Kwan, Jose Manuel de Oliveira Rodrigues, Ip Sio Kai, Lou I Wa and Sou Chio Fai.
