Celebrating 15th Anniversary of the Macao Special Administrative Region – Talents Group Investigation Plan Inviting Applications

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Macao Special Administration Region’s return to Mainland China. In order for Macao residents that live abroad to understand the achievements of the MSAR Government since its establishment, and to strengthen the connection of the residents and the government, the Talents Development Committee has launched the ‘Celebrating 15th Anniversary of the Macao Special Administrative Region – Talents Group Investigation Plan’, offering eligible Macao residents to apply.

The MSAR Government attaches great importance to constructing an effective, long-lasting mechanism of talent cultivation, thus it has established the Talents Development Committee, which is responsible for formulating, planning and co-ordinating the long-term development strategies of talent cultivation, designing and implementing short, medium and long-term measures of it.

As the 15th anniversary of the MSAR’s return to Mainland China is coming, the Task Force of Encouraging Talents to Return to Macao of the Committee specially presents ‘Celebrating 15th Anniversary of the Macao Special Administrative Region – Talents Group Investigation Plan’, to entice Macao residents who have worked aboard for a long time to return to Macao and investigate Macao’s latest development. It is also served as an exchange and communication platform for Macao residents and the government, local enterprises and chambers of commerce.

Overseas Macao residents who have established their own business or work in industrial or commercial circles, or those who are professionals in various fields or have professional qualifications, are eligible to apply for the plan.

The Committee will select 20 outstanding Macao residents to return to Macao on 1st February, 2015 and will conduct a five-day orientation, including: (1) Visit official departments, chambers of commerce and private associations to have a deeper understanding of the economic and social development of the past 15 years that Macao has experienced since its returning to Mainland China. (2) Visit the newly built infrastructure of the MSAR, and investigate the Guangdong-Macao Cooperation Industrial Park in Hengqin New Area and the Hengqin Campus of the University of Macau. (3) Organize forums with young local leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs and people from all circles, to comprehend the future development trends of various industries and demands on human resources in Macao. (4) Hold symposiums with representatives from the Committee, chambers of commerce, large enterprises and private associations, to discuss efficient policies that attract talents to return to Macao.
