Task Forces of the Talents Development Committee held relevant work meetings

The Talents Development Committee held its first general conference on April 2, and accordingly set up three subsidiary task forces: “Task Force of Planning and Evaluation”, “Task Force of Talents Training Program”, and “Task Force of Encouraging Talents to Return to Macau”. All the task forces hosted several meetings around early to mid-May, and launched different programs respectively in an active way.

In the meeting of Task Force of Planning and Evaluation, members discussed some basic information and the circumstances about Macao’s talents, and drew up a few plans for the forthcoming projects, which included: Requests to relevant departments and organizations for collecting statistical data about talents training and analyzing the conditions of Macao’s talents, establishing a talents database for further analysis, research purposes, future planning and long-term strategies for talents development of Macao.

Task Force of Talents Training Program primarily raised three programs, which consisted of “Program of Elites Formation”, “Program of Motivating Qualified and Specialized Talents”, and “Program of Promoting Application-oriented Talents”. The abovementioned programs will accelerate the coordination of local, regional, and international talents training projects and events.

Task Force of Encouraging Talents to Return to Macau mainly focused on studying and researching different schemes and polices that could attract overseas talents returning to Macao as well as local talents retention. It also designed a draft mechanism to contact with talents out of Macau. The group will refer to various talents policies in neighboring countries and regions, and subsequently precede its analysis after information arrangement.

During the meetings, all members of each task force actively showed their opinions and comments on current and forthcoming talents-involved issues, and would soon carry out their researches and work plans. It is convinced that talents development did and will play an essential role in Macao’s continuous and sustainable growth, which make it indispensable for the whole committee to devote to the long-term and subsequent work.
